We are beyond excited to announce the formation of a planning committee for our inaugural Ready Set DGC to GC program, set for February 12, 2025, in Chicago! This program is designed for women Deputy General Counsel who are ready to make the leap to General Counsel roles. Join us for a day of guided introspection, insightful discussions, and experienced advice and recommendations, as well as the opportunity to network with accomplished women leaders both in and around the legal community. We aim to create a safe space to address and talk about the challenges associated with transitioning to a GC role.
Our committee is a powerhouse of accomplished counsel who bring a wealth of experience, creativity, and passion. Their collective expertise will be instrumental in shaping a robust and impactful program. Let’s introduce our amazing committee members:
Stacy Bratcher: Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Cottage Health and host of The Legal Department podcast, Stacy offers a unique blend of practical insights and forward-thinking strategies. Her experience and thought leadership in the legal space are invaluable to our planning process.
Candace Jackson: Deputy General Counsel at Synaptics Incorporated, Candace has been a driving force behind the inception of this program. We've had ongoing conversations with her about how Ready Set GC can empower aspiring general counsels. Her influential perspective will guide our efforts in exciting ways.
Jennifer Miller: As the General Counsel at Grammarly, Jennifer is a seasoned legal professional and a passionate advocate for giving back to the legal community. Her commitment to mentorship and community service will help us create a program that is both impactful and inspiring.
Sterling Miller: A true icon in the in-house legal world, Sterling is a two-time former General Counsel and the founder of the immensely popular 10 Things You Need to Know as In-House Counsel – a must-read for any in-house attorney. His extensive experience and practical wisdom are unmatched, and we are privileged to have him on our team.
The planning committee will be led by our Founder, Deborah Solmor and our Co-Chair, Julie Kinch.
Ready Set GC is dedicated to empowering women in the foundational years of their General Counsel role, providing them with the necessary support, professional development, and community to become confident, effective leaders. This program embodies our mission by offering tailored guidance and resources to those stepping into the GC role.
